I use VPN Safenet (or rather my client does, so I do also) which I am told
MUST have IPSEC running. The service doesn't start - giving the message ... The IPSEC Services service terminated with the following error: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted. As far as I know - I running nothing that would be using this port. Background - In an attempt to resolve this problem I have just totally reloaded my PC - XP-Professional(SP2) - So I KNOW I have nothing "funny" running. I use MS Development Studio with SQL Server. I'm in Cape Town - My Client is in JHB - I have been able to connect for the last year - but last Saturday (20th November 2005) its as though my PC comes from another planet. I run DSL and Dial-Up - I cannot connect through either. Any HELP !!!! -- Regards MG |

Regarding GTA (Safenet) Software
For anyone who has looked at this for me - thank you. If you are also having this problem and are looking for answers, make sure you 'quiz' your network guys about upgrading software - from my experience, this is best done with the aid of a baseball bat. My problem was software upgrades at the server end. Once my policies were upgraded to match - the problem went away. And imagine - all this occurred without anybody changing anything - I must speak to Microsoft about software that changes itself without human intervention - quite a nifty invention that. -- Regards MG |
