Default Using Remote Desktop with WinXP Home Edition

I am operating behind a wireless router with two pc's. One of which is
Windows XP Home Edition (laptop) and the other is Windows 2003 Enterprise
Server (Desktop). Both have Remote Desktop installed. However, I can only
remotely connect from the laptop to the desktop. If I try to connect from
the server, the connection is refused.

I have did the research and I now realize that this is the way XP Home is
designed to work. Therefore, is there a way to get around this? Can I
install the Terminal Services piece in order to be able to connect directly
to the laptop using Remote Desktop?

Thanks!

I am not aware of anything that will give you RDP access on XP Home (and the
benefit of having the client pre-installed on any PC running Windows XP),
but there are third party solutions that serve essentially the same
function. One of the more popular (and free) can be found here:

The reason I have not upgraded to XP Pro is because I have XP Home v2003 and
the only XP Pro I can find is v2001 (msdn subscriptions site). I am a
developer and I have access to the msdn, but that is not helping me in this
case. I will probably wait until the next Windows release to upgrade.
