If I login into a laptop when out of office as username logging onto Domain
(which at login is not available) and then establish a VPN Connection using Netgear Client into a Netgear FVS318 VPN/Router I can ping the SBS 2003 server by name or IP, I can access the Exchange Server with Outlook and I can open the Sharepoint Site by server name or IP. Problem is I cannot connect to network shares or sync the Offline files--I get an authentication box but if I use the Domain Credentials that were used at login I get an error that there was no Domain Server available. If I login as a local user on the laptops then I can connect to network shares using the Domain Credentials. It seems that htere is a problem with the caching and I don't think XP Pro (Sp2) even tries the credentials when logged in as username.domain. Would make it so much easier if I could get this to work with the username.domain login for all the remotes Thanks Tim |
