Default VPN Problem/RRAS 3604 error

I had a working VPN connection which has now stopped working. Oddly, the VPN
connection is missing, and I cannot create a new one as I receive a "The
Routing and Remote Access service terminated with service-specific error
3604" message.

I have seen that many others are having this problem but I have not seen any
solutions. Any suggestions?

Using Win XP Pro

thanks.
