I have a problem with a remote Windows 2003 server. The machine is in
Geneva and unfortunately the network between here and there isn't so good. When I try and connect to the Geneva server with Remote Desktop it connects but does not display the login screen and after about 30 seconds tells me a network error occured and to try again. If I then try and connect straight away, it connects succesfully and I can log in. This server runs some Java RMI software which also complains occasionally about socket timeouts and failures. About once a week this software stops working completely and I can no longer connect to the server using Remote Desktop until it is rebooted. Once the server is rebooted everything starts working again and I can connect to Remote Desktop (After the first attempt). Any ideas how to start diagnosing this problem? |
