Is it possible to use Remote Desktop to connect an XP machine to a W2K
machine or two W2k machines. I am trying to set up a W2K machine as a fax server on my network and would like to administer it via the network without having a keyboard/mouse/monitor attached to it. |

If the W2K box is a W2K Server running Terminal Services then you could use
Remote Desktop to connect to the machine. If its not then look at using UltraVNC with its encryption plug-in as an alternative. http://www.ultravnc.com/ For added security over the public internet some folks run UltraVNC (or any other flavor of VNC) through a VPN or SSH tunnel. Personally I use SSH for remote access to my home LAN. -- Al Jarvi (MS-MVP Windows Networking) Please post *ALL* questions and replies to the news group for the mutual benefit of all of us...
