I have two laptops, one running Media Center 2002 and other XP pro. Neither
on can be accessed with remote desktop. I can connect to it but I always get a logon error: "The system could not log you on. Make sure your User name and domain are correct, then type your password again. Letters in passwords must be typed using the correct case." I have tried changing the password the the username I am using and I have tried creating a new user but both have the same results. I have all current updates applied. Thanks |

The Remote Desktop user Id and password must be created on the PC your
trying to connect to, ie. its local to that PC not the remote client PC. So if you want to remotely access/connect to the MCE PC create a user ID and password on that PC and make the user a member of the Remote Desktop Users Group. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...e_rem_hzcq.asp Beyond that is there anything in the Event log of interest? Thanks for the help. Turns out, all I did was reset the password for the
username I was trying to logon as and it started working.
