Default RDP logom

Is there not a way to use Remote Desktop without having to have to setup a
password?
The PC I am trying to access does not have a password, so when it starts up
it goes directly to the Desktop.
Can you also do file transfer when in a Remote access? If so, how do I set
that up?

No. RDP requires a password (you can save that password in .RDP file
though).

You can use password and still make PC to go directly to a desktop.

There is a help in Remote Desktop Connection. Ever read that?
Local Resorces -> Local Devices ->Disk drives (selected)

Please bear with me here.
Please expand your answers.
I have read many articles and instructions but it has gotten very confusing.

Hand holding?

1. Password saved in RDP file

Start | Run | mstsc
Click on "Options >>" tab
Fill in all fields as required. Click on "Save As..." button to create an
RDP file.
DClick on that file to establish connection.

2. Autologon (depends on host OS)

For XP (assume you want to auto-login as administrator):
Start | Run | control userpasswords2
Select Administrator account, clear the "Users must enter a user name and
password to use this computer" check box, and then click Apply.
In the Automatically Log On window, type the password in the Password box,
and then retype the password in the Confirm Password box.
Click OK to close the Automatically Log On window, and then click OK to
close the User Accounts window.

3. See local hard drive while in RD

Rght Click on RDP file | Edit
Local Resorces -> Local Devices ->Disk drives (make it checked)
Save RDP settings. Connect again.
You should be able to see your local drives in Windows Explorer in remote
session.

Good enough?
